Fact Sprint: playable mockup

Play a student's daily lap, then watch what the engine records, how facts move through the five boxes, and how it feeds the team race and the tutor view.

The loop you're testing

  1. Daily lap. About 70% facts the student knows or is reviewing, 30% still being learned, with up to 3 new facts. Answering is the only move. 6 × 7 and 7 × 6 count as one fact, shown either way round.
  2. A miss teaches. JoJo's tip shows the answer and a strategy, with a dot picture for facts still being learned. The fact comes back 2 to 4 answers later and drops to box 1.
  3. Facts move through five boxes, at most one box a day, so mastery takes several days.
  4. Team race. Each student's own progress adds race points to their team. Every team that reaches the target earns the badge.
  5. Tutor view. Box counts and the facts each student keeps missing, ready before the next session.

A right answer within 3 seconds moves a fact up one box, once a day. A slower right answer keeps it where it is. A miss sends it back to box 1. In untimed mode any right answer counts. The student never sees a clock.

JoJo's five jobs (S11)

JobWhere you'll see it
GuideThe start screen: today's lap in one line, and a welcome back after a gap
Progress markerThe runner on the track. He stays still while a question is up and moves only after the answer. A faint ghost JoJo runs the best lap.
CoachJoJo's tip after every miss, and the hint for facts in boxes 1 and 2
CheerleaderLap done: facts moved up, facts mastered and personal bests. Nothing about speed.
HostThe team race board: team totals only, never a student's name

Scoring

  • Race points: +1 when a fact moves up a box, +5 when a fact is mastered, +2 for a finished lap (up to 5 laps a week).
  • No points for speed, rank or simply playing.

What this mockup doesn't do yet

  • Here, answers are checked in your browser. In the real build the server checks them, so scores can't be faked (S3, S7).
  • No accounts, no consent check and no database. Everything resets when you reload.
  • Matched duels aren't playable here. They're optional in the spec and an open question for the pilot.
  • JoJo appears as a face crop from the existing art. His runner, coach, cheering and host poses still need drawing, once his rights are confirmed.
